About Me

Hi! I'm Brynne, and this is my health and fitness journey blog! It's been a long rollercoaster of a journey, but I like to think that I'm older, a little wiser, and it's my time.

I always enjoyed being active growing up, whether it was dance, or school sports.  As I got older and went away to university, I got significantly less active, but didn't change my eating habits.
It all came into sharp focus though when I was 20. I had just moved into my first apartment and was working construction.  I was drinking 4-5 double-doubles from Timmy's a day.  And I remember very vividly the moment I realized that I had to buy size 13 jeans.  I had been a size 9 for the longest time.  Somewhere along the line I went to a size 11.  But they were size 13.
My roommate and I joined a gym. It was nice to have a workout buddy! I wasn't very focused or consistent with my workouts though.  30ish minutes on the elliptical and a quick round on the weight circuit that was conveniently labelled 1-9. I joined MyFitnessPal and discovered that my coffee alone was 1000 calories a day! So I cut back on the number of coffees I got, as well as switched from cream and sugar to milk and sweetener.
I lost a bit of weight, and got back into my size 11s. The roommate and I tried to be sensible about food, but we were never strict or deprived ourselves.
Then I met the man who is now my husband.  Time spent with him started replacing time spent at the gym. And finally I moved across the city to live with him, and cancelled my gym membership.  No sense in driving clear across town!
And in our first year of dating, I put on approximately 20 pounds.  I say approximately because at my old apartment we never had a scale.
But I was back in my size 13s and miserable.
In the midst of mindless internet browsing, I found Turbofire. I downloaded it to see if I liked it before commiting to buy it...I LOVED IT! Many workouts and gym memberships have come and gone, and I always find myself coming back to Turbofire! The transformation I have posted here was January to October 2012.

I was so proud of myself, and I continued to work hard for the next year. Then we moved a few times, and I started to fall off track.

At my lowest, I was around 158lbs.

Then we got engaged, and wedding planning started getting in the way of working out.
And I discovered, that I am definitely a stress eater.  Leading up to the wedding I put 10lbs back on.

And in the 3 months following the wedding, another 10lbs.

On January 13, 2016 I weighed in at 179lbs.  Only 4lbs under my previous highest weight.

Enough is enough.

Time to get it!
